If you’ve been following my Instagram over the last couple of months then you will be fully aware that I’ve developed an obsession with smoothies. This is something that my younger self would definitely find very surprising, but after buying a blender I decided to take it upon myself to try out different recipes and figure out what works best for me.
The answer to that question is: red fruits. I love the combination that I’ve gone for with this smoothie, it’s been a lot of trial and error but it’s best smoothie that I’ve made and the only one I’ve managed to completely drink out of all of the variants that I’ve tried.
How to make a raspberry and strawberry smoothie
The recipe for making any smoothie is always super basic in my opinion, and making a smoothie is a really easy and fun thing to do, it’s one of those treats that you can keep experimenting with because you can’t really go wrong.
What you will need
- Frozen raspberries
- Frozen strawberries
- Frozen banana
- Milk – I use lactose free (1/4 cup)
- Greek Yoghurt (1 tbsp)
- Blackcurrent Jam (1 tbsp)
I like to start off by filling my blender halfway up with bananas and strawberries, I then take a table spoon of black current jam and put it in the middle, after that I fill the rest of the blender up with frozen raspberries and pour in 1/4 of a cup of milk. I like my smoothies thick and have found this is the best consistency for me, feel free to add more or less milk depending on your desired consistency.
If you’d rather not use blackcurrent jam you can substitute it for strawberry jam, but you can also make this smoothie without any jam at all if you don’t want it to be so sweet. You can also miss out the bananas if you want it to be strictly strawberry and raspberry, but I do feel like the strawberries add a nice texture to the drink.
