January is typically the time of year where a lot of us get fashion-confusion. It’s not quite cold enough yet to need to bring out our big coats but also not quite warm enough to go outside in nothing but a t-shirt, it’s hard to tell what the weather is like as it’s no longer frosting over in the morning and the sky is typically clearer. I like to think that I’ve nailed this dilemma though, that I now know what to dress in and what suits the weather.
I think that this is an easy outfit because it’s one that anyone can pull off. You don’t need a specific budget or body shape to achieve this look which is something that is always important to me when I dress, I’m only 4’11 but my body type is curvy so I try to be more concsious about the way that I dress so that I can feel good about myself and feel comfortable.
This time of year is also typically really grey and dark looking, so I like to keep my outfits light in the colours and I also like to keep my fabrics a little thicker so that if the temperatures do fall, I won’t freeze.
Jumper: Joanie Clothing x Jumper £45 (gifted)
Something that Joanie always manage to do, is make a fantastic jumper! The material that Joanie use is always great quality and wears well. I love this robot design, I think it looks really cute and Joanie are always pretty good with making their designs cute for formal and informal wear; you could wear this with a blouse underneath with the collars poking out for a more dressed up look.
Jeans: River Island (Similar: New Look £25.99)
These are my favourite jeans but you can’t get them anymore and to be honest mine are worn. But grey and blue always looks really nice together so if you want to mimic my look, I recommend some washed blue jeans.
Shoes (not pictured): Supergas £67
Obviously, these aren’t pictured, but I was wearing my favourite trainers. My Supergas, if you’re a regular reader and you’ve seen most of my fashion content then you know that these are my all time favourite trainers. They’re comfortable, they match almost everything and they last ages! Mine are coming up to three years old now and they’ve only just started tearing and staining.
- Glasses: Prescription – Specsavers / Kylie Minogue
- Lipstick: Besame / Blood Red
How you could spruce up this look:
Formally, you could wear a peter-pan collared shirt underneath
Informally, you could wear this jumper with a maxi skirt and some trainers.
