We’re all very well aware that Christmas is about giving and appreciating, it’s about making our loved ones happy and putting a big smile on their face and bringing joy their way through showing them that we care. That’s why I’ve been wracking my brains thinking about what I’d appreciate for Christmas if I was given a choice and as I sat scribbling down ideas in my notepad one night, I took a break. I went to Instagram.
My following list consists of three genres: fashion accounts, lifestyle accounts and cleaning accounts. Ever since I moved out I’ve had my eyes opened to the world of cleaning fanaticism, I of course knew they existed because my mum is a prime example of someone in love with cleaning and cleaning products, she and my sister would sit talking about something Mrs Hinch posted that was a pretty neat idea, but I didn’t realise the amount of people just like my mum with Mrs Hinch boasting millions of followers.
So with Christmas around the corner, keeping my Christmas Tree neat and tidy and cleaning up has had me thinking about gifts I’d want. As I began to think more and more about gifts I’d appreciate for Christmas though, I realised that a perfume would be lovely but it wouldn’t be helpful since I already have so many of them, that I really love jewellery but I don’t wear it enough for it to be a great gift and it’s not as though it’s making my life any easier. Which is when I realised that I’d probably appreciate something more unconventional, something that I can use in my home to help me get it spick and span.
So I turned to my cleaning cupboard, I had a peek inside and began to wonder which of the many products would I love to receive as a gift. I then picked up my slightly too used yet very helpful washing up companion – my purple Scrub Mommy.
The first thought that crossed my mind was, “If someone made me a Scrub Daddy hamper I’d love that.” Which is when I realised that actually, that’s a really good idea and actually I’d really like that as a gift and I’m sure I’m not the only person in the world who would.
Obviously, I haven’t made a Scrub Daddy hamper for anybody and nobody has made me one either, but I have had the pleasure and joy of using lots of products out of the Scrub Daddy range as they were kind enough to gift me some – a funny phrase considering the topic of this post.
My Favourite Scrub Daddy Combination
Whenever I clean my bath I love to use the Pink Stuff paste with my softened Scrub Daddy, I’ve found this to be the most effective cleaning method when it comes to my bath and I always get great results, the scrub daddy is both rough enough and kind enough to my bath that grime is easily lifted without damaging the inside of my bath,
I also like to use my scrub daddy to clean my tiles and keep them looking clean and white, I’ve found that this is the best method and out of all of my resources I enjoy using my Scrub Daddy to clean my bathroom with the most!
I also used this combination to clean my kitchen tiles as well, we have tiles that fill half of the kitchen and they get quite grimey, I always struggle with them so when I decided to use this combination I wasn’t totally shocked when I had amazing results! The scrub daddy gets hard enough so that it really does give the tiles and grime a good scrub and always leaves me with near-flawless results.
The newest addition to my cleaning collection and something I’ve been yet to try out of the Scrub Daddy range is their Scour Daddy, these are pretty fantastic and I really like using them in my bathroom specifically.
I’ve used them to clean my taps with because normally I just go over them with some wipes and Pink Stuff and I get pretty eh results from this duo, so I used the same situation, my Scour Daddy and some Pink Stuff on my taps and oh my. I’ve never seen my taps gleam so successfully, and you all know me well enough to know that yes I did stand staring at my taps four about forty five minutes after the fact.
Something else that is very new to me is the Daddy Caddy, I’ve made a little video to go on my Instagram stories showing you ways you can use this but in the mean time I’ll talk you through what I’ve done with mine over here.
I really like this idea because we always have Scrub Daddy products in our home and when I wash up I do prefer to use a Scrub Daddy, but my caddy is a bit small so I always end up squashing them a bit so that they can fit and my poor Scrub Daddy always ends up looking a bit sad, so I think this is a fabulous product for those of you – or your loved ones – who always have a Scrub Daddy handy.
I wanted to stick mine to the inside of my sink but we use a bowl in my sink to wash up in instead of using the actual sink basin, I did think about sticking it to the bowl but realised that this wasn’t really the most sensible choice, so eventually I settled for sticking my Daddy Caddy on the tiles by my window which my normal caddy normally sits next to, and I love it!
I think it looks really neat and tidy and it keeps my Scrub Daddy looking happy and round, I also like the fact that it’s a clear caddy so that it’s not too in your face when you haven’t got your Scrub Daddy resting on it,
Now obviously, I’ve done all of this talking about my Scrub Daddy collection without actually talking about them. My first memory of Scrub Daddy (haha) is from earlier on this year, I hadn’t moved out yet but I was attending This Morning Live as part of a blogging experience, before I left my mum enthusiastically told me that Scrub Daddy were going to have a stall there and that she really wanted one.
So when I went to This Morning Live my first stall-trip was to the Scrub Daddy kiosk, if you go into my Press Events highlights on Instagram you can find a short video that I took where the team were explaining to us how to use a Scrub Daddy, but I bought four and went on my way.
Since then Scrub Daddy was a regular in my family home and I became familiar with the sponge for a long time. When Pedro and I had paid our deposits and whatnot for the flat I then went out shopping for cleaning products and I bought a Scrub Mommy for the first time!

The best part is as well, Scrub Daddy isn’t impartial to Christmas, they’ve released their yearly Christmas Colours collection again which is a fabulous set of 3 Scrub Daddy sponges with Christmas colours and a lovely snowy packaging too!
I couldn’t find these on the Scrub Daddy website but I have found them on easho.co.uk – I really think this is a fabulous limited edition idea and as I said at the start of this article, I think that a Scrub Daddy Christmas Hamper would be a fantastic gift, so including these would really get things looking and feeling festive.
Honestly gift ideas like these go a long way for the people in your life who you know will really appreciate them and get the best use out of them as well.
If I’ve inspired you to create a hamper or even just go out and try some Scrub Daddy products – let me know!
