With the season of parties fast approaching, most of us are already in the festive spirit and searching for the best ways to host a festive party. As you can imagine, I’ve been sourcing through Pinterest and getting some inspiration for when the time comes, because yes we’re definitely hosting parties this year and I want to give my guests the best experience.
The main problem that I normally find with parties in a small space is finding a place for everything to go, our flat is pretty small and so making things more convenient for the guests so that they can simply grab what they need without getting in each others way means that we have to make the most of what we have: which is limited.
So, when Sue Ryder sent me a drinks trolley, which is new to their range this year, I knew it was perfect to use for parties and also to get a warmth going when not in use for the sake of parties.
How I dressed the trolley
As you can probably tell, the fairy lights don’t come with the trolley and were in fact added by us, we spent forever wrapping them around but it was so worth it because it really does add a sprinkle of festiveness and the fact that the trolley is gold means that it looks so warm and inviting.
There are obviously so many ways that you can dress your trolley as well for daily use, I’m obviously a massive fan of the fairy lights idea, I think it’s a great feature and it’s also convenient if you don’t like to use your main light source, a small dazzle in the corner of the room is effective and pretty, but you’re not just limited to this idea.
Depending on the type of party that you’re hosting, it opens up a lot of options for how you want the trolley to look, in my case I’m using it to host a Christmas party and also a home-warming party, so if you want to keep the theme of Christmas or New years going, I think the trolley would look great maybe with some confetti on it for a fun base, you can use baubles like I did or if you want to get more creative, I think that putting edible candy canes around the trolley that your guests can come and just pick off to eat or put inside your drink is also a neat idea. You can get the trolley by following this link btw.
Other ways to use the trolley for day-to-day use
I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’ll use my trolley after party season is over, it’s really pretty and obviously I won’t only be using it for the sake of displaying drinks and since it’s so pretty on it’s own, I’ve had to think about how I’ll use it afterwards, so here’s a few ideas that I’ve had and how I think you can execute them.
- Display a floral arrangement
For the days where I don’t feel like displaying my flowers in the center of my coffee table, I think that putting a vase on this trolley and displaying some pretty flowers on it would look really effective and nice.
- Put it in your bathroom and display bath products
Our bathrooms aren’t quite big enough for this but if you want to live like a bougie queen, I think that it’d look really good to display your bath products on this trolley. I’d personally get a wire basket to put them in neatly and maybe another one for bath bombs etc, but I think that this is also a good way to keep organised and less cluttered.
- Use it as a vanity
If your bedroom storage is a bit more limited and you like to have your beauty essentials on display, put them on the trolley! Get some baskets or pots to put your favourite products in and perhaps leave the trolley next to your dressing table or drawers, wherever you feel is best, so that you can easily access your every day bits and bobs.
…and we really used the trolley!
As this post goes live, Pedro and I are hosting our very first party in our home. We’re having a home-warming party and we decided to make use out of the trolley and display all of the drinks that we bought. I kept saying about how nice it looked, especially when it was being used how it should be used. If we host a Christmas party or any others, we’ll definitely be using the trolley. Since our kitchen is also fairly small this also saved us from the dilemma of not knowing where to put the drinks, we loved how it looked and how easy it was for everyone to grab themselves a drink.
If you’re interested in this trolley, take a look on the Sue Ryder website, they have a Christmas section live right now too so if you’re also keen to see what else you can get for parties or otherwise, have a look!
With party season quickly approaching, we can’t wait to host more parties and make the most out of the trolley, it’s such a beautiful gold and it looks really effective especially when it’s being used how it should be. We love it and I can’t recommend it enough if you’re somebody that wants somewhere to display their drinks!
