Living at home comes with the benefit of not paying bills or rent and having my mum around to have a chat with whenever we feel like it, but it also comes with the restriction of not decorating it to how I please. Truth be told I’ve spent the best part of a year planning my move into my own flat, buying necessities such as cutlery and a kettle, but moving out is a while away yet despite my year long planning, so occasionally it’s nice to switch things up in my bedroom whilst it’s still mine.
Desenio were kind enough to help me figure out how to make sprucing up my little space in the house fun, my style and also consistent with what I already have, despite the fact that my home will not be following the same vibe. I was free to express myself and find prints that match who I am now and how I want my home to look in the months to come.
Truth be told, I really like muted colours and lots of browns lately, I like a more neutral tone compared to what is going on in my room right now, I feel like my bedroom is very grey and dull looking so it’s nice to get some colour in there. For that I used the Dried Leaf no4 and Dried Leaf no1 prints, I put them side by side on my wall because I think it looks good for the layout of my room, however I imagine these being on different walls in my living room when I get my flat.
I loved browsing Desenio, I feel like there are designs for every taste and they really know how to nail what’s both trendy and timeless. I was very tempted by a lot of the Lisbon prints, but I feel like I already have quite a lot of things that are related to Lisbon and I don’t want to overdo it with that theme, so I went for more simplistic prints, such as the line flowers and the two large prints in my bedroom. Also couldn’t resist getting an Amsterdam print for my parents conservatory being as it’s their favourite city in the world (my family take a liking to European cities okay?) and I feel like the prints themselves are such amazing, high quality that they’ll last for years to come.
I can see myself buying from Desenio in the future if I need more prints because not only are they amazing quality, but they also arrived really quickly. I was actually really impressed by how fast they arrived, the packaging was really great too because there wasn’t a lot of plastic involved and the box itself was flat packed so there wasn’t a lot of cardboard waste either.
The frames are also incredible quality, the back of the frame is actually designed so that you can have them in any orientation without it being too fiddly, I really appreciate this as I’m definitely someone that likes to switch things up from time to time, and if I want a new print but not a new frame, it’ll make hanging it a lot easier.
To be honest, it’s taken a long time to collect things for my home so it’s nice that every now and then I can refresh my bedroom a little bit just so I don’t feel like I’m going crazy with the same four walls all of the time. Desenio were amazing and I really highly recommend that you go and check their website out and order some prints!
