Ah, Summer time. My favourite season of the year by a long shot. I love the warmer weather, I love the fashion and I just get so excited about that weeks worth of a heat wave we normally get. This year I’ve been trying not to follow too many trends, to step out of the box with my outfits and to wear what is both comfortable and practical, I also love hats more this year and dresses too. So, what am I wearing?
For the days when we can leave the house with our bare legs exposed, I always opt for a dress that I know flatters my curves as well as sits nicely above my knees despite not being petite.
On these days, I typically head out with my camera and tripod in hand and go and shoot some photos – but I need somewhere to put my camera whilst I’m wandering around, and for that I have a beautiful satchel from Jo’s Totes.
The bag is roomy enough for me to put a few outfits in if I’m intending on shooting different looks and it also holds my camera in without it taking up barely any room, there’s also front pockets which are convenient for if I’m carrying an extra battery or charging pack. The colour is beautiful too and perfect for the Spring/Summer seasons, it also feels incredibly lightweight when I’m wearing it and I can’t wait to style it with more outfits throughout the Summer.
Jo’s Totes also ship from the UK, USA and Australia for those of you wanting to get one from abroad!
- Joanie Clothing T-Shirt
- River Island Jeans
- Superga Trainers (unphotographed)
For the days when the weather is slightly less forgiving and you can only bare to go without a jacket, I love to put on my denim River Island jeans – they’re not like a lot of the other jeans that I have and wear because they’re a straight leg and also they’re ripped and grated into.
For this specific outfit though I decided to wear my Joanie Milkshake t-shirt, I think it’s a really cute tee and looks nice with the blue jeans, but it’s also fitting for the season being as when it’s warm enough, who doesn’t crave a milkshake?
On this day, my friend Adam and I went strawberry picking – it was a lot of fun and we did a lot of laughing, I wanted something bright and Summery on but also I needed my shoes to be practical since we were walking through a farm. I opted for some chelsea boots which were fitting, but I got super super warm so if I were to do this differently, I’d just wear lighter shoes and let them get a bit dirty!
I love the Summer though for the fashion and for the activities, the farm smelt amazing and the fresh strawberries were a big win with my niece, she gobbled so many of them up! We were really surprised by how affordable the strawberries were too which was great.
I loved this outfit though, it was so comfortable and felt like it was suitable for the activity. I love big bold patterns so this was a major win of a dress for me, I bought it last year though so I’m not sure if it’s still up for sale, I bought it for Lisbon last August and haven’t worn it since until now! I’ll definitely be making it a staple this Summer!
Also, my favourite part of this outfit are my vegan friendly, recycled Swedish Stockings Tights! This is an amazing eco friendly brand that makes hosiery out of recycled materials and it’s SUCH high quality stuff too – my tights were perfect for year round wear and they’re quite thick too so you can’t see my tattoos through them when I’m trying to dress smarter. I looove these for how they look and for the good the brand is doing for the planet.
