I love valentines day for many reasons, mostly because I’m a sappy romantic and celebrating love, to me, is a wonderful thing. But also because I love underwear and I feel like brands up the cute game for Valentines, making me want to spend spend spend and get some new knickers.
But today I’m specifically talking about a set from Bloom and Boudoir. Crochet and lace are my favourite fabrics and designs, most of my underwear is frilly with a bit of lace (I just like it that way), and I feel like it’s not that hard to come across pretty undies for affordable prices nowadays – but with Bloom and Boudoir, not only are you paying well for high quality: it’s charitable too.
That’s right – £1 from each bralette sold gets donated to the charity Look Good Feel Better. You can read all about it on their Charity page on the website but to me that’s really great to see! Doing your bit for charity and getting some gorgeous undies you’re going to feel great in at the same time? C’mon.
But Actually, I like these because I like to feel empowered
I have a big insecurity: my back. I speak about it a lot because it’s a) theraputic and b) I’m hoping that by talking about it, more people with a similar insecurity will learn for them to not let it get them down.
I’ve suffered with bacne for as long as I can remember, I’ve taken all of the tablets, applied all of the creams and tried all of the fad diets to try and clear it. I was too insecure to wear a bikini and I would hide my back away. Then one day I woke up and realised how much I’m missing out on by trying to hide my back and pretend that the problem that I’ve been fighting, isn’t there.
So by wearing underwear like this it makes me feel sexy. That’s right: sexy. Something that I never felt before knowing what was behind me, but I feel empowered, I feel good about myself and I feel like everyone else should experience this feeling too because well – everyone is sexy and beautiful, and if it takes some pretty crochet panties and a matching bralette to make you feel that way then honestly, go for it!
*Thank you Bloom & Boudoir for sending me these undies!
