I’m a little bit naughty when it comes to footwear. I tend to buy shoes without trying them on, or if I try them on and they’re a little tight I’ll try to “break them in” instead of just go for another size or just not buy them. This obviously results in sore feet and blisters, and retreating back to my Vans that I know fit me. However, I’ve been trying to branch out a little bit in the footwear I have, trying to steer away from my comfort zone Vans.
If you follow me on Polyvore, then you know that I’ve had a bit of an affinity for Superga trainers lately, I love the look of them and my sister has two pairs that she’s had for a little while as well, so I already knew of them. They look gorgeous in the sets that I’ve put them in, and I’d been oohing and awwing over buying a pair. Luckily for me, and in perfect timing, Footway found it’s way to me. This is an online shoe store, that has thousands of shoes and hundreds of pages of shoes filtered to your tastes, and to my absolute delight, they stock Superga’s.
To begin with I was a little bit of a skeptic, I was wondering if the Superga’s were worth how much I’d hyped them up, I was worried about the fit and I was just frankly worried about if I’d actually love them when they showed up.
When they arrived, they were actually the first pair of shoes that I opened, I was so keen to try them on and I’d been dying for them so of course I was going to be excited.
These are probably the first pair of trainers that aren’t Vans that I’ve had a delight to put on my feet, no joke. They’re ridiculously comfortable. I even had Mia try them on because I couldn’t believe how well they fit.
I decided that I want to wear my Superga’s with a light outfit, I also think they’re perfect travel footwear too, so I’ll definitely be wearing these to the airport in a few months time.
Because they’re so bright, I wanted to try a completely colourful no black outfit, so I decided to wear my ripped denim Topshop jeans and my mustard jumper for these images, I think that the Superga trainers definitely tie the look together, and I’ve managed to completely avoid the colour black.
These aren’t the only pair of shoes that I was treated to though, I also had a pair of Duffy chelsea boots. I love chelsea boots, and if you’re someone who has been reading on here since the start, you’ll remember a blog post I wrote hyping chelsea boots up. The pair that I once had, I destroyed. I wore them to take Effie on a walk in a muddy field and they got…demolished, to say the least. I wanted a pair of chelsea boots that were firm, stylish and were to my taste. Footway stocks so many chelsea boots, my options were endless and it was a little bit difficult to choose a pair! I loved so many of them, but this specific Duffy pair, I loved.
What I liked about these boots, was the side panel. There’s a little buckle strap that goes down the elastic panel, this little feature was something that I feel like screams Georgia. I’d looked at so many chelsea boots, and none of them appealed to me the way that these did.
What I didn’t expect, was the faux fur lining inside the boot. When I put my foot into it, I had an audible “Ooh,” moment. These are perfect Winter boots just because of this, they will definitely be keeping my feet warm, but I also think you can get away with wearing these in the Spring and Summer too because they’re also very light on your feet.
The look I decided to go for with the chelsea boots was kind of more towards my “alternative” style, but I ended up not really liking the dress very much as the way that the tartan is manipulated is a little bit unflattering on my body type. The boots though, I love. They’re so comfortable and it literally feels like you’re walking on air. I did go out on a colder day so I did double up by wearing tights and socks, but it didn’t really make a difference to how the shoe felt.
It’s so important to feel comfortable in your shoes, I’ve suffered too many times from wearing shoes that don’t fit me well enough, and to be honest, it does make your outfit look bad when it’s pretty obvious you’re struggling to walk, or your toes are curled at the tip of your shoe trying to squeeze your foot into it. I was so pleased with the shoes that Footway sent out to me, and I was so pleased with their service too, the delivery time was fantastic and I had no complications with the parcel or the shoes themselves, Footway is definitely a shop that I’d buy from in the future and I do highly recommend them, the variety in their shoes is amazing as you have so many options to choose from, there’s literally hundreds of pages for you to scroll through.
