It’s been a while since I last sat down and actually wrote in a blog post, so I decided to talk about my newest family member. I love my pet dog, Effie. She’s one of the best things that happened last year, and even though it took some training to get her out of some bad habits, and even though we had a lot of fun training her into doing new tricks, my family loves her and we all cherish her.
Effie at 8 Weeks, thanks Mia for the photo.
Constantly having Effie around, keeping my family company and molding into our family has really positively impacted us, although she is just like a human toddler, and is still in her training phase, she’s a seriously intelligent dog who loves cuddles and affection. Her company really brings light into my world.
We’ve always had a dog, I was about eight when we introduced our first pooch into the family. She was also a staffy, a brindle, named Misty. She was all Mia knew as well, they were best friends and her passing left a hole in our family. We didn’t get Effie to replace Misty though, because nothing and nobody could replace her, but Effie definitely filled the void in our family. We need a pet dog, I think that it fills the missing spot and makes the family feel whole.
Effie at 16 weeks
Effie loves us, and we love her. With a strong bond being built between owner and pet, she has become a family member, and became one in no time. She has a little sassy attitude, and her personality is a touch of freshness in the household. I can’t imagine not having a dog, I love Effie with all of my heart. She’s just a cute, furry overly hyper active sister.
Every morning I get cuddles off her, and she gets super excited when I come home after work (which normally involves mouthing), and she’s the perfect guard dog too. The slightest noise outside has her alert, and I can’t imagine anyone not hearing her from outside because she does not give in.
Pets are fun. Effie is constantly making me laugh, she can act really daft sometimes but she’s a seriously intelligent dog, playing with her is no chore and I’m going to love her forever.
