BLOGGING REGRETS

I’m quickly approaching four years of blogging, and to some, this may seem like a short period of time, to me it’s felt like a lifetime. I’ve done a lot, my blog has grown a lot and I’ve changed a lot over the course of these years. There’s a lot I regret though, and there’s tonnes that I wish that I’d done sooner, so I’m going to air my laundry, and tell you about them. Read more

BLOGGING IS STILL ALIVE AND THRIVING

We see bloggers all over the place talking about: Is blogging dying? Should we all be giving up our years of hard work, and try to make it on YouTube? And to that I say, er, no. From what I can see, blogging is still alive and doing well – some of us may be stuck at a cross roads trying to figure out our happy middle (I surely am), and some of us may just be taking a step back whilst others flourish. But it’s definitely not dead, and I’m here to say why.

IT’S OKAY NOT TO LOVE EVERY PART OF YOURSELF

Looking in the mirror is something we all do every day, I’d say for a substantial amount of time too. Whether it’s picking at a fresh spot, looking at your damp hair as you blow dry it, or taking a thousand selfies to post to insta, we all do it. Whilst looking in the mirror, you may notice that you’re not overly keen on your chunky thighs or your double chin is looking extra double today, and it might make you think, “I don’t really like that part of myself.” – most people would tell you to chin up (no pun intended), and to learn to love yourself as a whole. I’m telling you the opposite.

SLOWING DOWN, TAKING TIME OUT AND RELAXING

This time of year is always very difficult for me. I find myself getting into a bit of a slump – this is my own doing since I have it drilled into my head that Spring/Summer should be magical, filled with things to do every weekend and the weather should be amazing. Obviously I live in Great Britain, it’s always less than 20 degrees unless we have a “heat wave” and the city I live in isn’t exactly brimming with things to do, which can be quite hard to accept. SAYING NO TO BEAUTY STANDARDS

Or more specifically, saying no to beauty standards set by bloggers. I get it, I’m a blogger, I understand that when we get sent things in the post or when a company reaches out to us with a pitch that makes the reader feel good about themselves – by changing this and that about themselves it’s a tempting feat. Because us “setting” these standards, is somewhat accidental. I’ve written posts with the intent of making my readers feel good about themselves, by offering tips of things that they can do to change. I’m guilty as charged – but I understand how you feel reader. So, here’s to saying no. Read more

USING PINTEREST TO GENERATE BLOG TRAFFIC

Pinterest is a great website, I use it for inspiration, I use it for ideas and I just really love to browse the website whenever I can. Using it for my blog has become a “new” thing for me lately. I didn’t quite understand how to increase my website traffic through Pinterest up until I did a little bit of research and decided to dedicate some of my blog time to generating traffic from the image hosting and sharing website.  Read more

ON PACKING A SUITCASE

Something that I hate to do is pack a suitcase. It feels like a challenge, fitting a week or a few weeks worth of outfits into one space can be quite stressful, but thanks to my last trip to Lisbon, I decided that this time I’m going to pack my case a little more sensibly. Read more

SELF CARE

Self care is something that should be a priority in all of our lives, and in one way or another, we do subconsciously have self care routines or methods. Obviously though, self care isn’t something that is just limited to our appearance, it can be to do with anything that affects how we feel mentally, and yeah okay, physically.
